The research results showing that the world's oldest metal type printing book was discovered in Korea will be unveiled at the '2024 World Cultural Heritage Industry Fair', the largest cultural heritage industry fair in Korea. Cheonha Tongil Co., Ltd. will exhibit the research results showing that the 'Nammyeong Cheonhwasang Song of Virtue' is the world's oldest extant metal type printing book, confirmed to be 138 years older than 'Jikji', which was previously registered as a World Cultural Heritage, at its Art and I booth at the '2024 World Cultural Heritage Industry Fair' to be held at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center (HICO) from September 10th to 12th. Dr. Woo-Sik Yoo, CTO of Cheonha Tongil Co., Ltd., announced that he had conducted research for eight years using PicMan image analysis software and proved that the 'Nammyeongcheonhwasangsongjeungdoga' printed with metal type in 1239 is the world's oldest metal type printed book. Dr. Yoo said, "The domestic bibliographic community ruled that this research could not be published 22 times, but this research result was listed in the American Printers Association's World Printing History Chronology," and "This research result has opened a new chapter in the world's printing history."
