About the event
As 'Nammyeongcheonhwasangjeungdoga' has been listed as the world's oldest metal type in the World Printing History Chronology, the research process for the metal type book will be revealed in detail at the 2024 World Cultural Heritage Industry Fair. Dr. Woo-Sik Yoo, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Cheonha Tongil Co., Ltd., who is researching that Nammyeongcheonhwasangjeungdoga (南明泉和尙頌證道歌) is the world's oldest extant metal type printed book, announced that he will exhibit the results of his research at the Art and I booth set up at the '2024 World Cultural Heritage Industry Fair' to be held at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center (HICO) from September 10th to 12th. Dr. Woo-Sik Yoo has been conducting research for 8 years using the self-developed PicMan image analysis software. Dr. Yoo has been publishing papers claiming that the Nammyeongcheonhwasangjeungdo is the oldest existing printed matter, having been produced 138 years before Jikji, through scientific image comparison analysis rather than through conventional visual investigation and bibliographic approaches.
